“now it is high time to awake out of sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11
There is nothing I love to do more than to go to church on Sunday morning and then to come home, to sit on my back porch and take an afternoon nap. With the winter fast closing and the spring here, the cool crisp breeze and a light blanket is all I need to fall fast asleep. And really there is nothing wrong with physical sleep, we all need our rest. But if we were honest with ourselves as women, many of us are asleep or half-asleep at best.
Oh yes, we busy ourselves with the kids, work and the cooking and cleaning. Yet no man lives to himself or was ever meant to. But somehow we have drawn a small circle around our lives and we have allowed ourselves to be lulled asleep with the mundane things of this world. The sins and sorrows of those around us abound yet it has not caused us any sleepless nights. “You have been eating the fat and drinking the sweet, but have you fed the hungry? Have you brought in the wandering?”
Sisters the multitudes are perishing, shall we not give them something to eat?…. We need a “GREAT AWAKENING” in our personal lives- for our salvation is nearer than when we first believed!
Wake Up! Wake Up!
There is a crown to receive, a feast to partake of and a King to please.
